Ponpoko, a ninja tanuki, and P-kun, a peanut fairy, appeared in the nascent VTuber scene between 2017 and 2018.
Their unit, "Pokopea," has since transformed over the past seven years, moving between 2D, 3D, puppets, and costumes, refusing to be confined by existing frameworks.

Born from animation, these two have continually transformed their appearances and ventured beyond YouTube.
They've participated in the Yuru-chara Grand Prix, embarked on rap tours, built an amusement park in the virtual world, and toured various regions across Japan.
While maintaining their activities as independent creators not affiliated with any company, they've expanded their realm of expression, and over time, like-minded individuals who resonate with their DIY spirit have gathered around them.

The feature in "Quick Japan" vol.177 focuses on Pokopea's unique creative spirit.
From multiple perspectives—Ponpoko & P-kun themselves, their creative team, artists from other genres, and fans—we unravel Pokopea's world of expression and their way of life as creators.

The cover features an original visual created by nabekatsu (Tsuribu Tokyo), a creator who has worked on numerous Pokopea projects.
The opening feature includes a super long interview where Ponpoko & P-kun reflect on their past activities, discuss their beliefs about life and creation, and share their future aspirations.

Additionally, special guest interviews with artists whom each of them deeply respects have also been realized!
P-kun requested actor Masahiro Higashide, whom he became a huge fan of through movies and YouTube.
Ponpoko requested video creator Kanta (Mizutamari Bond), who greatly influenced her activities as a VTuber.
Each visited their respective guest's home to discuss "living and creating."

Furthermore, the issue spans over 80 pages, featuring "Fans' Top 50 Favorite Pokopea Videos," interviews with neighboring creators, a photo gallery of Ponpoko's "days off" captured with a film camera, P-kun's top 10 influential cultural items, and more.

Also a must-see are the visuals showcasing the two in various forms, including puppet gravure shots taken in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, where Pokopea are based, newly drawn original illustrations, and costume gravure from "Pokopea's Bulletin Board."

HANA Appears on the Back Cover & in the Second Feature!

The 17-page back cover feature showcases HANA, a girl group formed by CHIKA, NAOKO, JISOO, YURI, MOMOKA, KOHARU, and MAHINA, who emerged from the "No No Girls" audition program produced by CHANMINA.

Under the theme of "My Own Voice, My Own Story," the seven members adorn the back cover and are featured in interviews and newly shot gravure photos, divided into three units: CHIKA & KOHARU, NAOKO & JISOO & MAHINA, and YURI & MOMOKA.
Additionally, each member's autograph, written with a kanji character representing "self-expression," is included.
