In 2017-2018, in the dawn of the VTuber scene, two characters appeared: Ponpoko, a tanuki ninja, and P-kun, a peanut fairy.
Their unit, "PokoPii," has transformed over the past seven years, appearing in 2D, 3D, puppet, and kigurumi forms, never confining themselves to existing frameworks.

Born from animation, these two have continually changed their forms and ventured beyond YouTube.
They participated in the Yuru-chara Grand Prix, embarked on a tour as rappers, built an amusement park in a virtual world, and traveled to various local regions across Japan.
While maintaining their activities as independent creators not affiliated with any company, they have continuously pioneered new realms of expression. Over time, comrades who resonated with their DIY spirit have gathered around them.

The special feature in 'Quick Japan' vol.177 focuses on PokoPii's unique creative spirit.
From multiple perspectives, including Ponpoko & P-kun, their creative team, artists from other genres, and fans, we delve into PokoPii's world of expression and their way of life as creators.

PokoPii's extended interview, special guest interviews,
and "Top 50 Favorite Videos" as chosen by fans!

The cover features an original visual created by nabekatsu (Tsuribe Tokyo), a creator who has worked on numerous PokoPii projects.
The opening feature includes a super long interview where Ponpoko & P-kun reflect on their past activities, discuss their beliefs about life and creation, and share their future aspirations.

Additionally, special guest interviews with artists whom both admire have been realized!
P-kun wished for actor Masahiro Higashide, whom he became a big fan of through movies and YouTube.
Ponpoko wished for video creator Kanta (Mizutamari Bond), who greatly influenced her activities as a VTuber.
Each visited the guest's home to discuss "living and creating."

Furthermore, the issue includes a massive volume of over 80 pages, featuring "PokoPii's Top 50 Favorite Videos" as chosen by fans, interviews with surrounding creators, a photo gallery of Ponpoko's "days off" captured with a film camera, and P-kun's top 10 influential cultures.

Also a must-see are the visuals showcasing the two in various forms, such as puppet gravure shot in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, their base of operations, newly drawn original illustrations, and kigurumi gravure from 'PokoPii's Kairanban' (PokoPii's Neighborhood Bulletin).

HANA featured on the back cover & in the second special feature!

The 17-page back cover feature includes HANA, a seven-member girl group consisting of CHIKA, NAOKO, JISOO, YURI, MOMOKA, KOHARU, and MAHINA, formed through the audition program 'No No Girls' produced by CHANMINA.

Under the theme "My Own Voice, My Own Story," the seven members adorn the back cover. In addition, interviews and gravure photos were conducted with three units: CHIKA & KOHARU, NAOKO & JISOO & MAHINA, and YURI & MOMOKA.
Furthermore, the members' signatures, each writing a single kanji character representing "self-expression," are also included.
