■Synopsis

Debuted in 2013. A cartoonist. Having served in the military police himself, he has created many works based on military service to convey the reality of the South Korean military. His representative work is "DP DOG's DAY" (original title: DP 개의 날). He also served as the scriptwriter for the Netflix drama adaptation "D.P. - Deserter Pursuit."

Takaya Hirooka
In 2021, he won the Grand Prize at the 5th "Korean Books to Read in Japanese Translation Contest" for Hwang Mo-ga's "Moment Arcade" (published by CUON). His translations of Korean sci-fi include Hwang Mo-ga's "Time Born" and Park Hae-eul's "Species That Left This Star" (both published by inch magazine), and the web series "Japan-Korea Sci-Fi Exchange Diary" (Kaguya Planet) which featured 12 Japanese and Korean sci-fi writers each. In 2024, he translated the critique "Seven Perspectives on 'Parasite: A Half-Basement Family'" (published by CUON).
