In "Quick Japan" vol.184, a special feature on "Sgt. Frog" will be published to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its anime broadcast!

"Sgt. Frog" began serialization in "Monthly Shonen Ace" in 1999, and the TV anime aired from 2004 to 2011. The total number of episodes reached 358, and a completely new TV anime is scheduled to begin airing this autumn.

And on Friday, June 26, 2026, the new movie "Sgt. Frog the Movie: Revival and Immediate Crisis of Earth's Annihilation!", the first new movie in 16 years, will be released.

The cover of the SPECIAL EDITION features a completely original visual newly drawn for "Sgt. Frog the Movie." Keroro is drawing in a relaxed pose, and Tamama, Giroro, Kururu, and Dororo appear in the sketchbook!

The special feature title is "Effortless Survival Strategy." It's okay to fail, to be lazy, to forget about invading Earth. We have prepared a plan to unravel the charm of the work by focusing on the "effortless way of life" that can be glimpsed from the "Sgt. Frog" series—continuing each day loosely and happily while taking occasional breaks.

One of the special feature contents includes interviews with the main voice cast members who have given voices to the characters for many years: Kumiko Watanabe (Sgt. Keroro), Etsuko Kozakura (Pvt. Tamama), and Joji Nakata (Cpl. Giroro). It has been announced that the main cast will be replaced starting with the TV anime this autumn, and we will ask them about their thoughts on this work, their final appearance, and the characters.
